A FREE class for Parents and their Infants

Birth to 6 months

Bringing a baby into the world can fill our hearts with joy and love and our minds with questions and wonder.  Join other families navigating the newborn phase in a supportive, fun, informative class with our parenting educators.  Explore topics that are relevant to you and your family as you begin the journey of raising a healthy and happy child.

Studio 40

Unlock the Creativity of Early Childhood

1 to 5 years old

Drop in on Mondays for a captivating program of art, music, movement and other creative activities at our own Studio 40 - a magical place where parents, grandparents & children play and grow together.  At Studio 40, unique indoor and outdoor hands-on play experiences are the key to early childhood learning. Studio 40's monthly spotlights ensure each day is a new adventure.

 Partners In Play (PIP)

Our Partners In Play classes follow an engaging curriculum that allows you to share meaningful play time with your child and have the opportunity to talk to other parents and our educators about parenting questions.

PIP Cooks!

Your child will be the master chef, and you the sous-chef, as together you enjoy the process of measuring, combining, and smashing and stirring before sampling culinary delights.  Not only is cooking a fun way to bond and foster self-esteem, it also engages all of the senses and is the perfect platform for introducing language, math and science skills.

 Coffee Talk

Coffee & conversation focusing on hot topics for parents of young children

  

  Topic: NO is Not a 4-Letter Word

Saying "No!" often evokes feelings of anger.  Big feelings - both yours and your child's - are the perfect starting point for teaching life skills that will help your little ones through the ups and downs we all face every day.  In this 3-week class you will learn what to do when your child gets angry, and how to help your child develop self-discipline and coping strategies that will last a lifetime.

Caught In the Middle

2-evening sessions

This dynamic group is designed for parents of young adolescents.  Join Forty Carrots executive director and veteran educator, Betsy Kane-Hartnett, as she helps you navigate your 10-14 year old's maddening yet magical rollercoaster years.

Session 1: February 7, 2012; 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Session 2: April 24, 2012; 5:30 pm - 7:00 pm

Child'Space

A collaboration between Forty Carrots & Healthy Start Coalition of Sarasota

Featuring Barbara Leverone, M.A. & L.M.T.

Birth to 7 months

Involvement in Child'Space classes illustrates to parents and caregivers how to support their baby's development through constructive play, movement and touch.  Topics include tummy time, infant massage, learning to roll, sit and crawl.

Winter Session begins January 9, 2012

Birth - 4 month olds: Thursdays; 10:00 am - 11:00 am

4 - 7 month olds: Thursdays; 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Fee: $15/class; $40/3 classes
